IPRO is redesigning its certification courses,
materials and strategy. Much of our approach and materials will be retained.
However, the course and types of certification will follow along the lines
outlined below.

BASIC
CERTIFICATION COURSE

PROGRAMS INVOLVING ORGANIZED RACQUETBALL OFFERED IN A TWO-DAY SESSION
THROUGHOUT THE YEAR)
Course
Fee: $225
Course Completion
One attends the course and partakes in all of the activities, including the
testing. They do not pass all of the tests at the minimum requirement.
Level I (Instructor)
The same as above; one passes the tests at the minimum level of 75%. There
are four tests administered--Level 1 Referee Exam, Practical test, Hitting/Set-up
test, and General information written test.
The Referee exam is under
a separate license. The other three count toward the AmPRO Certification.
Level II (Advanced Instructor)
The same as above; one passes the tests at a minimum score of 83%. Must
demonstrate the ability to teach at the beginner and intermediate levels,
and have strong demonstration skills.
Level III (Professional)
The same as above; one passes the tests at a minimum of 90%. Must
demonstrate the ability to teach all levels of students and have a history
with racquetball instruction. (minimum of 2 years).
Clinician
Must be at Level III status. Only open to the elite instructors in the
industry who have worked with individuals, small, intermediate and large
groups, and have helped with, or instructed racquetball camps.
TESTING
Level I Referee Exam is
part of the AmPRO Course, but a separate license.
Level I Referee is subject
to one passing the test at a minimum of 85% and being signed off on ten
sanctioned tournament matches by a state board official. Upon registration,
this test is available to the student. Open book format.
Hitting/Set-up test
A series of shots, serves, and feeds. Safety issues, location variations,
height-speed-angle adjustments are integral elements of this test. Upon
registration, this test is available to the student for review and practice.
Practical test
A condensed lesson of approximately 10 minutes given during the course by
each student. Areas of concern are: organization, general knowledge base,
explanations and demonstrations, error detection and solution offerings,
and interpersonal skills.
Written test
An open book format exam which covers rules, strategies, lesson plans,
technical aspects, and more. Upon registration, this test is available to
the student.
