Colorado Springs, CO - The Spectrum Athletic Club will be the
site of the 24th Annual International Racquetball Federation World
Junior Championship, November 11-17, 2012, in Canoga Park,
California. This is the second time Spectrum has hosted this
event.
The IRF World Junior Championships event is held annually. More
than 20 countries will participate this year with total players
numbering 300+. The defending championship team is Mexico. Bolivia
took second place in 2011, with the US in third.
The World Cup division features Olympic format divisions
(singles and doubles) for ages 18 & Under, 16 & Under, and
14 & Under for boys and for girls who have qualified to compete
on their national teams. Similarly, the Esprit Cup includes ages 12
& Under and 10 & Under. The Challenger Cup welcomes all
junior players 8-18 years old who wish to gain competition
experience and improve their skills. Medals will be awarded to the
top four places in Boys and Girls singles and doubles, while
trophies will be awarded to the first four places for national
teams (Boys, Girls and Combined).
Warner Center Marriott in Woodland Hills, the host hotel, will
be the site of the event's Opening Ceremonies (11/11 at 7:00 p.m.)
and Closing Ceremonies (11/17 at 7:00 p.m.). Live match video
streaming from the Spectrum Club will begin at 11:00 am PT each day
of the event through the finals on November 17. To view the action,
